I was born in Olbia, Sardinia. My childhood was a sea of sensory stimuli: a carpentry workshop; a laundromat; the countryside; a noisy family; long walks; the details of nature, fabrics, and materials. Vivid images. In this sense, I believe I discovered photography long before buying a camera.
A part of my photographic life belongs to solitude and meditation.
Yet, from my childhood I also remember the scenes, the interactions between people, and the arguments..
I feel that part of my photography developed around the need to interpret human relationships.
This grand spectacle that is community—how communities form and how they break apart—represents the fundamental question driving the most socially engaged side of my photographic work today.
